파리바게뜨 말레이시아 1호점 ‘파빌리온 쿠알라룸푸르점’ 오픈

SPC가 말레이시아 쿠알라룸푸르(Kuala Lumpur)에 파리바게뜨 말레이시아 1호점인 ‘파빌리온 쿠알라룸푸르점’을 오픈함.

지난해 6월 현지 파트너사인 버자야 그룹과 말레이시아 사업을 위한 합작법인 ‘버자야 파리바게뜨(BERJAYA PARIS BAGUETTE Sdn. Bhd.)’ 를 설립함.

SPC는 올 하반기 준공 예정인 ‘SPC 조호르바루 공장’을 전진기지로 삼아 동남아, 중동을 포함한 19억 인구의 ‘할랄(HALAL) 시장’ 확대에 본격적으로 나선다는 계획.

이슬람교 비중이 높은 말레이시아의 문화적 특성을 고려해 모든 제품에 돼지고기를 사용하지 않으며,인도네시아, 캄보디아에서 인기를 끌고있는 찹쌀도넛, 왕꽈배기, 맛살 고로케 등도 선보인다. 추후 현지인 입맛에 맞춰 개발한 다양한 빵과 디저트, 음료, 브런치 메뉴들을 판매할 예정.

한편, SPC는 말레이시아 외에도 인도네시아와 캄보디아에 조인트벤처를 설립해 각각 8개, 2개의 매장을 운영하고 있다. 이외에도 SPC는 지난해 영국에 2개점, 프랑스에 3개점을 잇달아 오픈하고, 프랑스 샌드위치&샐러드 전문 브랜드인 ‘리나스’를 역인수했으며, 올해는 캐나다에 첫 매장 오픈을 앞두고 있는 등 글로벌 사업을 적극적으로 확대하고 있다. 현재 파리바게뜨는 미국, 중국 등을 포함해 9개국에 총 450여개의 글로벌 매장을 운영 중.

무협 “아시아 생산거점 중국→대만·말레이시아

한국무역협회 국제무역통상연구원이 6일 발표한 ‘글로벌 공급망의 뉴노멀과 우리의 대응’에 따르면 최근 통상분쟁과 공급망 리스크 분산을 위해 각 대륙권별로 생산거점이 다원화되는 현상이 뚜렷해지는 것으로 나타났다.

기존에 아시아의 생산거점이었던 중국의 역할은 대만, 말레이시아, 인도네시아로 나뉘고 있으며 유럽은 독일에서 프랑스, 이탈리아로 흩어지고 있다. 북중미의 경우 미국을 대체할 역내 유망 거점은 아직 뚜렷하게 보이지 않지만, 향후 멕시코가 신규 거점으로 떠오를 것으로 나타났다.

연구원은 권역별로 기존 거점을 대체할 수 있는 유망 신규 거점에 대한 확인을 위해 △역내무역 비중 △그린필드 해외직접투자(FDI) △거점국의 최종재 생산을 위한 해당 권역 내 부가가치 등을 기준으로 실증 분석을 실시하고 상기 3개 지표의 지수 상승 시 생산거점으로서의 지위가 강화된 것으로 해석했다.

제조업의 경우 ‘전기장비·기초 및 가공금속’ 등은 대만·독일·멕시코가 유망하고 ‘화학’은 대만·프랑스·미국이, ‘운송장비’는 인도네시아·독일·멕시코가, ‘식음료’는 인도네시아·이탈리아·멕시코가 특화되어 있는 것으로 나타났다.

또한 디지털 혁신을 통한 제조업의 서비스화와 함께 가치사슬 전반에 걸쳐 서비스업의 투입이 활발해지면서 서비스업의 거점별 특화 양상도 나타나고 있다.

서비스업의 경우‘사업 서비스’는 말레이시아·프랑스·미국이, ‘소매업’은 말레이시아·독일·멕시코가, ‘내륙 운송’은 중국·이탈리아·멕시코가 특화하는 등 점차 분화되는 특징을 보였다.

관세청, 10월 1일부터 말레이시아 수출 쉽고 빨라져

한국-말레이시아 간 수출입안전관리 우수업체(AEO) 상호인정약정(MAR)이 1일부터 발효됐다.

관세청에 따르면 AEO MRA는 우리나라가 인정한 수출입안전관리 우수공인업체(AEO)를 상대국도 인정하고 상호 합의한 통관절차상 혜택을 제공하는 관세당국간 약정이다.

이후 양국은 상호인정약정의 차질없는 이행을 위해 혜택부여 절차 및 시스템 설계 등 세부 운영사항에 대해 준비해 왔으며 두 차례의 시범운영을 거쳐 이날부터 상호 수출입안전관리 우수업체 인정 및 세관절차상 혜택을 부여키로 했다.

양국 간 상호인정약정 발효로 두 나라의 수출입기업들은 검사율 축소, 우선통관 등 혜택을 받게 됐다.

특히 우리나라에서 공인받은 우수업체의 수출화물은 말레이시아에서 세관검사가 90% 내지 100%까지 줄어들게 돼 경제적 파급효과는 연간 약 55억원에 이를 것으로 관세청은 보고 있다.

현재 우리나라는 말레이시아를 포함해 미국, 중국, 일본 등 총 22개 국가와 상호인정약정을 맺고 있다.

“이제 ‘세계의 공장’은 아세안”

아세안(ASEAN) 10개국에 대한 전 세계 자본의 직접투자 규모는 2016~2020년 동안 7310억달러에 이른다고 합니다. 같은 기간 중국에 대한 직접투자(6989억달러)보다 많습니다. 2011~2015년 투자 규모에 견준 증가율을 보면 아세안 지역 30.4%, 중국 10.4%로 세 배가량 차이를 보이고 있습니다.

전국경제인연합회는 18일 유엔무역개발회의(UNCTAD)의 이런 통계를 바탕으로 글로벌 공급망 축이 아세안으로 이동하는 ‘아세안 시프트’가 나타나고 있는 것으로 풀이하고 아세안이 중국의 바통을 이어받아 ‘세계의 공장’으로 부각되고 있다고 평가했습니다. 태국, 말레이시아, 인도네시아, 싱가포르, 필리핀 등을 포함하는 아세안은 이날 창설 54주년을 맞았습니다.

전경련은 “2018년 미·중 무역전쟁에 따른 미국의 대중국 수출 규제를 회피하기 위한 중국 내 일부 외국인 투자의 이탈, 코로나19 확산 과정에서 발생한 중국 내 생산기지 가동 중단의 영향 등이 복합적으로 작용해 글로벌 공급망의 아세안 시프트가 심화하고 있는 것”으로 풀이했습니다.

이런 공급망 축의 이동으로 전 세계 직접투자에서 아세안 10개국이 차지하는 비중은 2017년 9.4%로 중국(8.3%)을 추월했고 2019년엔 격차가 2.6%포인트(아세안 11.8%, 중국 9.2%)로 확대됐습니다.

전경련은 “2016년 이후 한국, 중국, 일본, 대만 등 아시아 역내국을 중심으로 대아세안 직접투자가 두 자릿수 이상 증가하며 아시아 역내 중간재 교역에서 아세안의 위상은 중국과 거의 같은 수준이 됐다”고 평가했습니다. 2019년 기준 아시아 역내 중간재 교역에서 중국의 비중은 31.2%, 아세안 6개국(인도네시아, 필리핀, 베트남, 태국, 싱가포르, 말레이시아)의 비중은 30.8%로 집계돼어 있습니다.

코로나 이전 말레이시아의 외국인 투자유치는 2018년 76.1억 달러, 2019년에 76.5억 달러로 전년대비 거의 변화가 없으며, 해외투자는 23% 가량 증가한 63억불을 기록하였습니다.

외국인 투자 금액이 가장 많은 분야는 부동산, 금융 계열 등 서비스업(53.6%)이며, 뒤를 이어 제조업(22.8%), 광업 및 채석 부문(16%)의 비중을 차지하고 있습니다.

말레이시아는 정부차원에서 항공우주산업, 생명공학산업, 정보통신기술 등 고도기술 수반 제조업이나 관광산업, 해운 및 운송업, 교육산업 등 서비스산업 분야의 투자유치를 활성화하기 위해 노력 중입니다.

말레이시아는 지리적으로 ASEAN 지역의 중심에 있다는 이점 외에도, 무슬림, 화교, 인도계의 다양한 문화가 공존하며 영어가 통용된다는 점에서 대내외에 기회가 많은 시장입니다.
