메이뱅크(Maybank) 금년 중소기업 카드결제 20% 성장 목표

쿠알라룸푸르(Kuala Lumpur): 메이뱅크(Malayan Banking Bhd, Maybank)는 자사의 새로운 서비스 mPOS를 바탕으로 금년 중소기업 카드가맹점에서 카드결제가 20% 성장할 것을 기대하고 있다.

그룹 부사장 및 카드부문 수장을 맡고있는 라빈타란(B. Ravintharan)은 휴대용 결제기기 mPOS는 메이뱅크(Maybank)와 맥시스(Maxis Bhd)의 합작품이라 밝혔다.

작년 중소기업 가맹점에서의 결제액은 총 100억 링깃으로 재작년대비 10% 성장한 수치이다.

“보통 POS 기기는 초기 비용으로 최소 800링깃이 드는데 반해, mPOS는 MaxisOne 비즈니스 요금제를 이용할 경우 최소 월 10링깃이면 이용가능하다. 이러한 것은 현금없는 거래를 장려하기위한 은행의 노력 선상에 있는 것이고, 메이뱅크(Maybank)의 가치 제안을 강화하기 위한 노력일 뿐만 아니라 2020년까지 주민 1,000명당 25개의 POS 기기를 달성하고자 하는 금융부분의 청사진을 지지하는 것이다.”고 서비스 개시 후 밝혔다.

라빈타란(Ravintharan)은 mPOS 서비스 개시 첫 해 4,000개의 새로운 가맹점 특히 중소기업과 소규모 소매점들을 모으는 것이 메이뱅크와 맥시스의 공동 목표였다고 밝혔다. mPOS 서비스는 언제 어디서 모든 카드의 결제가 가능하다.

“이것은 결제 지형을 바꾸는 것이다. 두 회사의 합작은 카드가맹점과 고객 모두에게 편리함을 제공하고, 시장은 점점 더 소비자 지향이 되도록 할것이다.”
