Yeungnam University Delegation Explores Malaysia’s Tech & Entrepreneurship Ecosystem with PDS Consulting
PDS Consulting recently facilitated a multi-day Malaysia immersion program for a delegation from Yeungnam University, South Korea, aimed at providing firsthand exposure to Malaysia’s technology, entrepreneurship, and market ecosystem.
The program commenced with an orientation session led by PDS Consulting’s leadership, setting the strategic context of Malaysia as a regional gateway for technology-driven enterprises. The session was conducted by Mr. Harry Jung, Managing Director, and Mr. Hong, Chief Executive Officer of PDS Consulting, outlining the objectives of the visit, cross-border collaboration opportunities, and the broader Malaysia–Korea innovation landscape.
On the second day, the delegation visited Multimedia University (MMU), Cyberjaya, where participants gained insights into Malaysia’s higher education ecosystem and its role in nurturing technology entrepreneurs. The program featured dedicated sessions for students and professors, including interactions with MMU’s Entrepreneurship Development Centre, sharing sessions with student-led startups, and a Korean startup pitching segment that encouraged cross-campus dialogue and idea exchange. Academic leaders from both institutions also engaged in discussions surrounding future collaboration and institutional partnerships.
The third day focused on market exposure and industry engagement. The delegation visited KMT Warehouse (Korjaya Warehouse) in Shah Alam to understand Malaysia’s logistics and distribution infrastructure, particularly for companies distributing Malaysian products domestically and internationally. This was followed by a visit to Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), where participants were briefed on Malaysia’s digital economy, investment environment, and the country’s positioning as a regional digital hub. A panel session further explored Malaysia–South Korea market access, highlighting real-world challenges and growth opportunities faced by technology startups.
Throughout the program, PDS Consulting acted as the key facilitator, bridging academic perspectives with industry and government insights. The visit marked a meaningful step in strengthening Malaysia–Korea collaboration in technology, entrepreneurship, and talent development, paving the way for future partnerships beyond borders.
